Can someone school me on rooting androids?

Are they worth rooting? I know you can delete default apps on your phone but what else can you do? I feel like a fukking old man because I'm so lost on this shyt. Help me brehs

Yeah, I wonder if its worth too. I just wanna get rid of some of the stock apps but I hear too many stories about people's phones bricking and not being able to access the Play Store/Android Market. I was about to do it last weekend but then I smoked 2 blunts and was like chill breh, your phone is fine, you are just being greedy..lol

You can also try framaroot. I rooted my note 2 WITHOUT a computer.

I rooted my GS3 to flash Cyanogem Mod on it
I hate Touch Wiz and all those stock apps you cant delete
This is my first Android phone and even though I jailbroke iPhones
this shyt was like rocket science to me
It took a lot of research but I did it first try no problems
Only thing i had to find a PC to run Odin on
