Its very short sighted to think the way things are now is how they will always be. It’s very childish and short sighted to see otherwise.

Having a bigger playoff pool will mean more schools get the means to compete and win.
Agreed, and it'll help disperse the talent because there's more of a pool of competition, guys won't feel that they need to go to the same rotation of teams to win

Explain please.

You’re tripping. :mjlol:

Up until this yr, FSU has been borderline trash for the great majority of the past 12-13 yrs.

If you can recruit well and win, it doesn't matter too much where you are.

Look at what Clemson became over time.

USC is gone now, so if Colorado can eventually find a seat at the top of the pac 12 then Deion is in a great spot

You are saying this because you only see what's happening now and don't think the world will change.

TCU is currently a BIg 12 program, but they were a middling SWC, Moutain West/WAC, and Conference USA for most of the last 35-40 years. The fact that they played in that game last night shows that things are not fixed and always shifts and changes.
Imagine telling people in 2012, TCU will be in the national title game ten years from now :heh:

Only in D1 FBS college football do we have these dumb ass discussions. Every other level of CFB has a true playoff system :unimpressed:

TCU got embarrassed and it was a disgraceful performance but they deserved to be in the national championship game. They aren't the first team to get humiliated in the national championship game. Folks are only saying this because TCU isn't a blue blood school. Year after year traditional powers like OU, Michigan, FSU etc have gotten blown out and folks have never said they didn't deserve to be there.

There’s no coach that will take a job at Colorado over FSU. Not one! FSU has everything you need to be successful. If you look at the top twenty regular season games this year in terms of rating, I bet you FSU has 3/4 games in the top twenty without even looking. Huge fan base that travels, most fertile recruiting grounds in the country, constantly upgrading the facilities, just broke ground on a football only operations facility, middling conference so competition isn’t crazy, etc. etc. etc. On top of that—even with FSU being trash by our standards—is way superior to CU and still has been putting NFL players like Derwin James, Asante Samuel, et al., into the league. What has CU done? Colorado cannot match the football heritage of FSU in any shape, form, or fashion.

Who would you put over them if they can beat undefeated #2 Michigan? They belonged in there just should have swapped with Ohio State. Committee did it that way to avoid a Michigan/O$U rematch first round.

A pissed off Georgia team was just the wrong match up for them.
What's wild to me is that UGA did that to high-powered offenses all year. Oregon, Tennessee, Miss State and TCU all got slapped around by the UGA defense. Ohio State is really the only team that gave their defense problems. The anger at TCU being there just isnt warranted. If Michigan was that good, they would've beaten TCU. If Bama was the team everyone thought they were, they would've beaten Tennessee and LSU

I guess LSU did but that game was over by halftime. UGA was coasting in that second half

I don't disagree with any of this....BUT if you catch fire at the right place, you can get recruits as well as change a programs traditional standing.

Did you watch the FSU bowl game vs OU? That kid Sawchuck our RB, true freshman, first game he got any snaps all year and he looked fantastic.....he's from Colorado #1 recruit in state. Imagine if CU kept him in-state. Then imagine they can recruit Cali and Texas and sprinkle in some Florida kids.

It's not very far fetched

Group of 5s teams, the TCUs of the world…. teams that don’t have the depth or elite 4 and 5 star talent to win a national championship. Teams with a blue chip ratio of under 50% generally don’t win national championships

TCU is a power 5 team.

I just want your definition because people will often retrospectively say things can't happen for certain people or teams, but use loose definitions to describe them.

Don't get me wrong, I hope you're right. But what I watched last night convinced me that nobody was gonna touch Georgia this year, and I got zero hope that either of my alumni (UM and USC) will ever compete with THAT. And not only are they reloading for next year, they're dominating the transfer portal right now by snatching two top WRs lol. This is a haves and have nots system and those types of things tend to get worse, not better.

What does an 8-12 seed team look like in an expanded playoff, over the next few years? Two to three loss Penn State teams. Wisconsin. A two loss Texas team that loses their big games. Wack Pac-12 teams. All of whom are scrambling to secure 3 and 4 stars. And if any of those 3-4 stars end up being really good guess what, here comes Brian Kelly with a million dollars and a Dodge Hellcat. I just don't see how that's sustainable without massive changes to NIL and the transfer portal.
I disagree because they nearly lost to Ohio State

I believe OSU was able to give them fits defensively because of the huge delay between the last game of the season and the start of the playoffs. The preparation really helped OSU gameplan. If this game was a week after the conference title games, I think UGA wins in the same fashion that they beat Tennessee.

See, where does Deion fit into tonight.

I don't think he'll ever be able to get to a point where he has Georgia type talent across the board
Not at that spot, but that ain’t his end destination. If CU can float around top 30 in talent, that’s proof of concept of his prowess

That's not TCU's fault, or their pedigree. This Georgia team is just that damn good. It's an all-time team, and that will not be the case every year. Also, it may not just be one region.

With an expanded field I don't think it's unreasonable that he could get them a playoff spot someday, even if they lost the first game
