Only a strict salary cap will make a difference. NIL and the portal will help balance the talent level song but the sport needs full board regulation and even roles across the board.
No it won't. The money will just go back to duffle bags and Nike boxes instead of "NIL deals" which all this paper getting thrown around and you see maybe a handful of athletes sponsoring anything on their socials or making commercials. They better do something or the FTC will start coming in and a ton of fraud cases popping up.

College playoffs are necessary so teams like UCF don't claim false championships

Agreed, and it'll help disperse the talent because there's more of a pool of competition, guys won't feel that they need to go to the same rotation of teams to win
But there's a finite amount of talent (4 & 5 stars) that even pan out. Plus you can disperse the talent out all you want, you develop them, someone with a much bigger bag comes in and scoops them up OR the case for many, they don't get developed to their maximum ability and just waste away.

1. Georgia
2. Michigan
3. Clemson
4. Utah

12 Tulane vs 5 TCU
11 Penn St vs 6 Ohio State

10 USC vs 7 Alabama
9 Kansas St vs 8 Tennessee

If they had a 12 team playoff this year, this is what it would have looked like.

TCU would have had to beat Tulane in the first round, a rested Utah in the quarterfinal, then (most likely) Georgia in a semifinal. :mjlol:
Yeah

EVERYONE WHINING AND COMPLAINING SHOULD WANT THIS.

Breh please. Alabama whipping UCF 65-7 that year like Georgia did tcu.
And this same TCU team that got blown out would’ve beat that UCF team. Let em settle it in the field and if 65-7 is the result then so be it. Y’all just want big names apart of this and won’t admit it. Y’all are no different than the pundits y’all lambast here throughout the season for waving (insert conference pompoms).

That Tcu team wouldn’t beat that ucf team. That ucf team literally beat auburn the same year they took out the eventual National champion in bama

TYRONE GA!
I believe OSU was able to give them fits defensively because of the huge delay between the last game of the season and the start of the playoffs. The preparation really helped OSU gameplan. If this game was a week after the conference title games, I think UGA wins in the same fashion that they beat Tennessee.

I disagree simply off the fact OSU has better talent and the fact it was clear that UGA had no defensive plan in place for Stroud scrambling the way he did that game. He who shall not be named Junior was gonna get his regardless.

With an expanded field I don't think it's unreasonable that he could get them a playoff spot someday, even if they lost the first game
Nah I think that’s unreasonable lol. But I guess it depends on how long you expect him to be there. I think this is like a 4 year pump and dump

See, where does Deion fit into tonight.

I don't think he'll ever be able to get to a point where he has Georgia type talent across the board
Deion just has to win, he was never going to get a cavalcade of talent, but what he does get, he better squeeze every drop out of it
Also these playoffs won’t be lame neutral site games they’ll be played at college home stadiums so the atmosphere will be more fun too
See I’m not sure how that works, late December in Ann Arbor or Columbus could be an issue

I understand people’s knee jerk reaction is to say it won’t matter, and for the most part it may not

But

Now some 5/4 star that’s on the fence about schools may choose a non Death Star, because you still get on tv, still in the playoffs, etc,

Now a 5/4 star that was rotting on the bench, and wants to bounce may choose the next tier of schools, to be back in the playoffs and starting

The biggest issue is convincing kids you can still graduate to the league with any of these schools, (which is crazy because you can)

Frfr. Let's not forget that Nussmeier and LSU were able to pass on Georgia too.
