:wow:This movie right here is the epitome of art from the subtle nature of the flick resembling a old Japanese samurai movie from the 50s, to the music score that's simply :banderas::banderas:. Even the visuals were on another level like a pure grainy and grimey flick:

I use to watch this movie all the time back in 2000s. It's got so much replay value for me.

Thanks for reminding me about it because I may check it out again if I can find a stream

They just put it on Criterion Channel:wow:

I seen it popped up yesterday and lost my shyt:banderas::banderas:

Good looking out because I couldn't find it on Hulu, hbomax, Amazon prime, or Netflix

Damn I be hating the streaming era sometimes

Trust, I had to cut back A LOT when it comes down to streaming, especially with trying to move and all. I ended up with just Boomerang (for cartoons), Viki (Korean dramas), and (Criterion) for movies. Forget trying to go down the rabbit hole with copping all of these services just to see like one or two movies:francis:

No Whammies!!
I always remember Roger Ebert's review of this
Ghost Dog: The Way of the Samurai movie review (2000) | Roger Ebert

The whole story is so strange, indeed, that I've read some of the other reviews in disbelief. Are movie critics so hammered by absurd plots that they can't see how truly, profoundly weird "Ghost Dog" is? The reviews treat it matter of factly: Yeah, here's this hit man, he lives like a samurai, he gets his instructions by pigeon, blah . . . blah . . . and then they start talking about the performances and how the director, Jim Jarmusch, is paying homage to Kurosawa and "High Noon." But the man is insane! In a quiet, sweet way, he is totally unhinged and has lost all touch with reality.
