No. But men give women more credit than they deserve.

It's not about giving a pass. I'm telling you these dudes don't respond to shame. Men don't operate like women. If you could shame men into acting right, crime wouldn't exist.


At bare minimum you gotta use force with these types of guys. At worst case you gonna have to kill a couple to make a point. But
A. Nobody wants to take it to that level, especially the women.
B. We (Black people) don't run society so we couldn't enforce such measures.

So we resort to the one thing that has a slight success rate. You shame the women because they the main ones who usually lose in these situations (besides the kids).

Thanks for the perspective. I don't have very much in depth understanding of how peer pressure/ social shaming affects adult men, so maybe what i'm talking about will never happen. but i'm still going to remain hopeful that one day men will clown other men so hard for not doing right by their kids/kids mom that deadbeats will at the very least be embarrassed to be that way

Men already do clown other men about being deadbeats. If we can't shame Joe into getting a job what makes you think black men can shame deadbeats into responsibility. It's not gonna happen. They gonna continue to be deadbeats. And Joe gonna continue you to be unemployed until someone forces him.

To quote the show Luther"Women think men change and they don't, men think women don't change and they do."

Social shaming is just very ineffective on adult black men for a variety of reasons.
1. Black men get shamed about EVERYTHING so it becomes white noise at a certain point.
2. The shaming isn't accompanied by actual consequences.
3. The folks involved in shaming are usually hypocrites.

So the average man can say fukk you to any criticism.
