I keep hearing about this amazing job the Kerr is doing, and I agree that he's done a superb job with the dubs. But can we stop pretending like he didn't get a continuation of Mark Jackson's work? :beli:

He groomed Draymond. Curry, and Klay and Barnes. Those 3 years under him, they built trust, chemistry, and comradery.

Doesn't mean that Kerr is doing a great job, and obviously he knows the game. But man, could we not have seen, Curry, Klay, and Draymond having career years this year? Haven't people been saying that forever? Add to Barnes balling, and Iggy and Bogut already on the Roster, wasn't this team always gonna make the jump eventually?

Everytime I see ESPN, NBA TV, or something, they always talk about the job that Kerr has done. As if he brought this team up from the very bottom. This team was always going to be a contender eventually, because it always had the pieces. They improved EVERY YEAR under Mark Jackson, while they had a :scust: roster at times. While dealing with injuries all over the place.

They went from 23 wins to 47 wins to 53 wins. In the course of his 3 years there. All the while putting together the pieces to win, and building the character, trust, and belief in teammates that you need to be a champ in the NBA.

Once again, Im not saying Kerr isn't great. But he did get to have Curry, Klay, Draymond and so on, at the peak of their prowess, shedding all their NBA "babyfat" and has them with everything they built under Jackson.

He won 21 of his first 23 games and was the first rookie coach to do that. Not a coincidence when you have all that shyt already built for you. He didnt bring this team up from the bottom. Which is how the media tries to make it seem. :blackye:

I agree, and I think even the Warriors players agree with you. Mark Jackson built the foundation of success, got the young players to believe in themselves, trust their teammates and buy in to playing defense and team ball. Only cacs give Kerr any credit, if Kerr took the Knicks job their record would be the same it is now, but he has the complexion for the protection:mjpls:

Let's not act like Kerr being under 2 GOATS (Phil & Pop) doesn't have some effect on how well he has the engine running. He may have inherited a good team, but his (and his assistant's) system is bringing out the best in GSW. Mark is the nikka on the mic, but fam wasn't drawing up too many sets/plays like they're doing now. More of a defensive/motivational guru.

You could say the same thing about Jackson turning around their record. Weren't they always going to end up with a better record simply because Steph and Klay are the future? Would any coach in his place not have done just as well..

(my answer would be no but it's the same reason why Kerr deserves his props)

Totally different Taking a 30 game leap with young growing players/pieces who still need to learn to trust, work together, and be selfless, while improving their games is different than taking a punch of near-vets who have been to the playoffs already and starting off hot. .

No one predicted that Klay was gonna turn out the way he did, and neither did they with Curry. Do you understand how much these two have improved?

I mean it wasn't too long ago that Steph had the reputation of being a great shooter, with bum ankles that couldn't stay healthy. You telling me you predicted that he'd be arguably the best player in the league when he got picked up in 09? No. No one did. Which is why he got that 40 mil deal which is a fukking robbery as it stands.

Klay came into the league as a good shooter that couldn't finish at the rim, and had no D.

Both of those guys improved dramatically under Jackson.

I said none of those things but I'll add this: both of those guys have taken the next step under Kerr.
