Can we put to bed the myth that the Takeover was the "factual" diss?

It's been 12 years. I think everything that has needed to be said, has been said. New York said Nas won. Jay even said Nas won. They stopped talking about this in 2003. They let bygones be bygones in 2005. It's just sort of sad that people are still talking about it like it happened last week. It's done. Over. Accept the results. Move on.

I think it was more than just Jay stans who pushed the whole "takeover is factual" idea. Nas fans were pretty indifferent to the direction his career had taken up to the point, and many felt like Jay said what needed to be said when he tackled that. Jay definitely exaggerated because it was written was not "eh", but Nas was coming off the heels of two subpar efforts, and that bravehearts mess, which left a lot of his fans frustrated.
