If you don't like Grantland you're probably a sensitive Laker fan or you have a short attention span. Looks like we've got examples of both in this thread 
For real though, I understand Simmons' style isn't for everyone but that's an excellent site with several quality writers. It's got an intellectual (maybe even elitist) vibe to it so that might turn some people off. A few of the writers get a little too caught up in their own opinions when writing some of the longer pieces.

I don't care much for Simmons' writing but there are some quality writers at Grantland like Zach Lowe, Jonathan Abrams, Wesley Morris, Charles Pierce, and Rembert Browne.
why would anyone read a super long article about Birdman Anderson.

Your last two sentences kinda undermines them being quality writers. It's not even a case of short attention spans, people got lives to lead and shyt. Who really cares about another person's sports opinion to the point of reading long ass pieces. If you have an interesting opinion get to it.
Nothing in those last two sentences undermined anything I typed. I said they have several quality writers and a few who get caught up in their words. I'm describing different writers on the site, not the same ones.
It's not difficult to find the time to read long articles if you enjoy reading in the first place. You can't just state an opinion and expect people to agree; you have to flesh it out and provide an actual argument. But if people dislike reading then of course they're not going to enjoy that site.
Simmons provides so much detail in his writing that it probably turns some people off. But considering his book was a New York Times bestseller, and the fact that Grantland is pretty popular, I'd say there are plenty of people who enjoy reading long pieces on sports opinions.

Whether its written by Cac,Spic,Nygga or whatever Grantland is like any other sports site sometimes they have great articles sometimes they have shytty articles it is what it is if you dont like it just fukking ignore it whats so hard about that?
