I think it's mostly just a tchotchke, but the fact that you did the course means you have some useful knowledge (probably) should you want to go into business for yourself or springboard yourself into related topics. Code up websites, brush up your UI or backend skills, get that cheddar.
Degrees help, but the dev fields usually don't require them for you to get hired. If they give you a code test and you can ace it, you're well prepared.
