I hope the coaches do not gloss over these glaring issues because we won this game. The same issues that plagued us last night were apparent when we played GT, and that concerns me.
I give props to Coach D and the defense for taking Ebron out the game until that last drive, but he has to do a better job of coaching the linebackers to communicate better when you have such a dominant player at tight end. This dude was just running shallow crosses all game without so much as finger layed on him. I damn near destroyed my tv watching this guy get open so easily. The worst part was having to listen to Pollack and Palmer ask why Ebron is being allowed to get of the line without anyone trying to chip him or delay him. We got Nick O leary coming up and you better believe Winston will taregt this guy often based on film.
Stephen Morris, god bless the downer, but he is not going to get it done. He lacks touch, he overthrows his receivers when he gets antsy. I think it is time to open up the competition, Ryan Williams will be our QB next year, so why not give him a legit shot to see what he can do this year. All the QB in this offense has to do is get the ball to the playmakers that's it, Morris is too gassed of his press clippings and I feel he is pressing to make plays. Mediocrity must not be rewarded, this is a meritocracy and based on his up and down play, Morris hasn't shown anything to justify not opening up the Qb spot to competition.
This is our season brehs, what the coaching staff does this next week will tell whether or not we are contenders or pretenders.
