SO I'M TRYING TO GET MORE BANG OUT OF MY DAILY DRIVER. IT'S A 2020 FUSION.

I'M NOT TRYING TO GO CRAZY HERE. I JUST WANT BETTER QUALITY FOR MY OWN ENJOYMENT. I DON'T NEED 2 12'S IN THE TRUNK ON THIS ONE. I WANT TO UPGRADE THE 6.5'S IN THE FRONT AND REAR DOORS AND MAYBE ADD 6X9'S IN THE REAR DECK.

SWAPPING OUT THE HEAD IS NOT AN OPTION BUT IM WILLING TO ADD AN AMP IF NEEDED.

I'M ALSO WILLING TO ADD A SMALL SUB IF THERE IS A WAY TO KEEP IT FROM TAKING UP A LOT OF SPACE.

You don't need rear deck 6x9s if you get a sub, only thing you need for the front are a set of 6.5" components. It depends on your budget and if you do the installation yourself, I used to run image dynamics and sundown audio and Focals but Focals are high end SQ [sound quality] and you really need an amp for them.

You'd need a 4 channel amp for that setup 2 channels for each door and them the other 2 channels bridged and ran in a mono mode.

You'll want to find an amp with a high level/ speaker input connection. You probably won't be able to run rca connectors to it if using the stock radio. Go with a 5 channel amp so that you have the option to run a sub if desired

Make sure to get matching speaker ohms. This amp I linked can do 2 and 4 ohm. 2 is louder, while 4 is cleaner

Looking around google, it looks as though your factory speakers are 4ohm. Maybe start with just getting some good after market ones rated at 4ohm and have a high sensitivity rating. Try to find some listed at 92db or higher

Also get a component speaker setup, not coaxial. Components split the mids and highs while coaxial fits them all into one speaker, which you dont want

EDIT: Oatmeal is right, you can also run a 4 channel amp, only upgrade the front and then use the other remaining two channels run into a bridged mode to run the sub. Rear speakers aren't that important as the front soundstage is the only thing really worth focusing on, especially if running a sub.

I have a Tacoma and I kept the stock head unit it and added a 10" Kicker that comes with an amp. I got the head unit adapter on crutchfield. sounds pretty good for the cost ($250 for the box, maybe $20 for the adapter).

Yeah, I got a small self powered 12 in my wife's x5 and it pounds. These types of units only work well in open cabin vehicles though. Unless he has fold down seats, it will be fairly anemic if installed in the trunk

That hertz is nice, i got their speakers in my car and they sound great. Definitely a couple flights of stairs above kenwood lol

I dont see any link to the speakers, but i imagine the fosgates should be better than what you have currently. What you want to be looking for is their sensitivity and freq response ratings along with the ohms. The ohms you want to match with your head unit and the other specs, you’ll want to be to be equal to or better.
