if your rear speakers sit on the back deck below the window i suggest buying cheap speakers. i spent money on nice back speakers and the bass from my 2 12's rocked them to shyt and ended up blowing them out. waste of money. if their in the back doors splurge

i like Boston Acoustics, pioneer, alpine

I just have a couple of questions for you @Polygraph steez, what kind of car do you have and the inside speakers you have, are they ran by a amp or by your head unit?

$300? That's a lot. I would suggest taking off the door cards and putting in Dynamat at the same time.

If you got $300 to spend on inside speakers, that's a good bit. Find speakers that will match the power of your amp. If you have any money left over, then spend it on dynamat in the doors like what @unit321 said.

To tell you the truth man, I have heard of the name Massive Audio, but I don't know enough about them to say if they are good or not. I would have to do some research to see what they are all about.

heres my whole setup right now :

pioneer avh 5200 flip out
2 12" jl audio w3 subs
jl audio 500 watt amp running those subs
2 soundstream 6x9's which im tired of
i have no speakers up front
jl audio 320 watt running my highs

im content with my subs for now. i just NEED speakers front and back. i just want quality, i want my highs to be clear. i want adlibs in the background sounding crispy! my audio guy recommended me massive audio a few times. i also had another audio dealer tell me he has massive audios highs front n back for about 300. i just dont trust brands i never heard of. i know pioneer is cool but ive had pioneer already. i wanna try new sounds. keep in mind i like to THUMP. not to the point my heart is pounding tho lol. but i have it loud enough so people hear me coming before they see me. so just give me names or links to a specific model speaker setup. thx guys

Well, if that's the case I would definitely invest in just some separates in the front. Now, if your JL Audio amp is 2-channel, then I would run that amp on the separates and keep the Soundstreams and run those off the radio itself if it has an amp. If your JL Audio is a 4-channel amp, then run the separates and Soundstreams off of that amp and just turn the gains down some on the Soundstreams. You can get you a nice set of separates and use what you already have and save your money for something else. If you really want Massive Audio, you can go ahead and get just the fronts and save your money. As far as the Soundstreams, if you get the separates running on your amp and have the Soundstreams on the rear fill, they will just fill out the sound and will make the overall system sound better.

I would definitely amp the fronts. You would be surprised at how much power the fronts draw even if you have them high passed. Plus its always good to have headroom.

As for speakers, go with components and get holes cut in your door for the tweeters. I think you can't go wrong with the following brands:

Alpine
Infinity
Dayton
Eclipse

You should be able to get a good component set for not a lot of money. Then get it tuned by someone who knows what they are doing (not necessarily a shop) and you will be good to go.

Breh Get some good components for the front and some 6x9's in the back I've been fukking with my alpine type R's for 3 yrs now Nice clean highs smooth also not pitchy, and the mid/low bass is godly , if you want quality sound at high volumes you must amplify, one 4 channel amp for the front components+ rear 6x9 and keep your subwoofer amp for now . some things to think about before you jump out the window upgrading
sound deadening to reduce rattle on your doors and trunk area. also do not get a voltage capacitor, just get a high capacity alternator to prevent your lights from dimming.
