They are now owned by Fiat, however it seems all of their life they have been plagued by mechanical issues.

That’s still the case. Some quality and engineering issues still present. There are issues with the clutch in the manual transmission models overheating and blowing out the trans case leaving a big ass hole. There were incorrect welds in the frame where the control arm holding the front axle came apart. I mean, Jeeps have always had crazy quality issues, but are still somewhat solid. I’d definitely have one...

I have a Wrangler. It's durable as hell, but it has electrical problems and comfort is lacking.

It's great 2nd car in my opinion.

Modern FCA Jeeps are plagued with your typical cost cutting measures that sacrifices the mechanical integrity of some of their products. The Renegade is a shytbox, the Compass is a joke, I wouldn't touch the Cherokee with a 10ft stick, and the Grand Cherokee is :flabbynsick:

Brooklyn keeps on taking it.
The only Jeep I would buy is the supercharged or track hawk.

it’s crazy to think how lame American cars would be without their muscle car units.

everytime I call up a dealer about the Dodge Charger scatpack the dealers claim those go flying out the lot.

meanwhile the SXTs are widely available despite beings much cheaper

Stay away from any fiat Chrysler vehicle. I’m not just saying this cuz I’m a Japanese Stan, the reliability and quality just isn’t there.

Parents bought a Chrysler 200 new in 2014. Driver and passenger Seats were falling apart within the first year. Electrical issues up the ass. Trunk began to leak in the first 3 years. Car would shut off randomly over 60mph, happened several times on the freeway. I forgot what the issue was but it was fixed under warranty

Heard numerous stories of Dodge/Chrysler/Jeep owners with similar quality issues:scust:
