My family is a Honda family. First one was the ‘95 Passport. Made it to 250k in miles first engine and transmission. We drive to Belize 1-2 a year from Texas.

My Dad bought an ‘04 Pilot. Again put 280k in miles not a major problem. He has a ‘13 Pilot now.

I have a ‘18 MDX with the technology trim. I haven’t had any issues. We don’t put miles on it though. The last 4 years we might have put 30k?

You want reliability go with Honda/Acura.

Acura is Honda's upper brand. Lexus is Toyota's upper brand. Both will last for decades with regular maintenance.
Source: own TL and RX. Father has ES and GX.

Acura is premium:
you get best value for what you pay
not all the frills but enough to be satisfied
tighter suspension so you feel the road more and get better takeoff
RDX is a premium choice and looks sharp

Lexus is luxury:
Benchmark for luxury value with much lower maintenance
most of the luxury things u need comes standard
looser suspension so you feel less of the road and much smoother ride
NX is good but RX would be a better investment and is a finer choice

Mazda is a step down but they mean well
Generic exterior and decent interior.
Check specs to see if it has most of what you need
Check reliability to see cost of maintenance
Use Edmunds for year reviews

I was actually looking at the RDX, the interior is nice, make sure you go above 2019, they fixed the transmission. In terms of value (if that's what you are looking for), definitely go RDX over RX. To get a lot of the standard features you get in a RDX you are going to have to go almost for the top trim in a RX.

Depends on what you want. They are hella reliable. To me, everything else fell off 20 years ago.

If I going to get Asian luxury, I would get Lexus or Infiniti.

What years we talking? The RDX is the most “sporty” better handling SUV of the 3. The NX is the more luxurious, better interior, smoothest ride. The CX-50 will bring you the best value. The Mazda is not in the same league as the other 2, it’s a step down now matter hard they try to market their product as a upscale, sophisticated rival to the true luxury brands. I will say it’s nicer than a CR-V, or even the QX-50.
I'm thinking anywhere between 2017 - 2020.
That transmission still alive breh?
Barely. I'm targeting late October/early November for a new ride.
