Y'all cats done lost your god damn minds.
please keep your hate under 100 words for for the culture
nikka when should he fukking won a Grammy?
None of what u said have shyt to do what a Grammy lol
I know people don't want to hear it because of who said it, but that shyt is straight truth.
This year was a classic over-correction year.
Last year, Neil Portnow (the guy who just stepped down as the head of the Recording Academy, the people that run the Grammys) said that the women artists needed to step it up in reaction to there not being enough female representation in the nominees/winners. He got ate alive for saying that shyt. So this year they went out of their way to make sure that women were represented. Thus Alicia Keys hosting, and skewing more toward women performers than men this year. As soon as they announced the nominees, I knew Cardi was going to win. It had all the makings of the "Look at us being so progressive," moment. It was a woman that is genuinely likeable to most winning in what is traditionally a male dominated genre. It was also pretty much a given that Kacey Muagraves was winning album of the year. Same deal male dominated genre (country), and the bonus of being a "genre-defying" album.
The Grammys are basically the music industry's chance to suck its own dikk by showing the rest of the world how progressive and plugged in it is. Occasionally, they just happen to stumble into making a good decision. They matter to artists because just like with the Oscars, when you have a win to your name, any price you have attached to your name for anything just went up.
Who cares about grammys
Its just an opinion of old cacs.
Yall dont appreciate our own awards like soul train
My nikka you wrote all this to defend cardi fukking b are you autistic
No grammys but still here 20 yrs later
nah, it's not even the diss track, it's the reception to his album and the diss track being used to propel it over much better albums and artists that bugs me.
i said from the start that i didn't like the idea of white people calling a black guy blackface drake and shyt, though. now that he didn't win a grammy, i just wanted to reflect on the bullshyt.
do you not think it's weird for a black artist to diss another for being raised by a single parent? it just looks weird now that the hype around it all is gone.
wasn't even a defense. it was the reason why she won the grammy.
were ya'll nikkas just gonna be upset in here and come up with a bunch of different "agendas" "they're" pushing when the reason she won is pretty obvious.
why be openly ignorant about her impact in the culture? it's something artists can learn from and the differences between her and nicki are interesting.
instead of claiming it's white people or that atlantic could make the cash me outside girl famous, why not try not to actually learn and discuss important movements in your culture so you can be aware instead of giving all the power to the label?
that way if they do try it like you claim, then you can tell the difference between actual organic engagement and fake engagement?
the fact you think me just speaking the truth is defending her is wild btw. what kind of dumb nikka gets angry over the answer to what ya'll mad about? lmaoooo, i hate people like you.
Hit the nail on the head.
but rap is the mainstream/most popular genre in america. half of the songs of the year were rap/rnb. rap/r&b made up more than half of the record of the year categories, too. and rap/r&b made up 6 of the 8 spots for album of the year.
It's like the poster I quoted said, the Grammys are a "POPULARITY CONTEST". Mainstream rap has been shyt since the late 2000's. I don't give a shyt about statistics when music should only be about quality.
A lot of mainstream music now is garbage. I stick with the older genre of rap.
she deserves it
