That statistic of the joint family income, I exceed that myself so we are comfortable. Her money made will be savings/401k/travel/fukkoff money, to add to that now.

I'm a career woman and I don't mind submitting to my man...so you can have both. I like taking on the traditional role of being a woman, but my fiance doesn't expect it and he shows appreciation for what I do since we are both working. He does makes more than I do, and whats wrong with that? I don't see how a woman can submit to a man when she's the provider/ breadwinner, I would feel like a mother more than a lover. I'm supposed to let someone have the final say on financial decisions with MY money? Women submit easier to someone who they look up to. If I am more successful than you, that may be hard to do. For the record, I never sought out a man to provide for me, that's why I took my ass to school and majored in something I thought could afford me the lifestyle I desired on my own. He says he makes 81K.... thats $4600 a month. $1K for his mortgage, $600 for his student loans, probably another $300-500 or so for his car (gas, insurance, maintenance).... cable, phone, utilities are probably another $500. So $2000 left to eat with and save for retirement. If he had another mouth to feed he would need a bigger place, another car, etc. etc. hed prob be left with like $500 a month if that when it's all said and done

Where im from and in most other cultures and communities, if you get a chick that has money you pretty much won the jackpot. Your homeys be dapping you all your family will be proud of you and sh!t . If she or her daddy got money you are set for life. One of my former neighbors back in the naighborhood in Haiti's son just married a chick who's dad owns a chain of hotels. His parent threw a 3 day party celebrating down in Miami. I passed out by the pool celebrating with my boy.

But some of you clowns fear not being the one in control of the financials in your home. Thats because you tend to marry women YOU dont trust in the first place but she fine and got a big ass so you're good.

I don't think its "fear of empowered women" we black men have, I think its "disdain" to the fact that the women we are bonded with are empowered to overthrow us as head of the family unit as well as belittled socially. You have to look at what the root of the problem is breh and I'm going to play the race card on this. The black man used to be the sole provider and head of household within a family unit. A basic rule of war is to cut off the head and the body dies, this is what the white man knows and has been doing systematically for years in order to destroy (fukking devils). Because these women are empowered (especially in this country) you will see women take on a different respect for their men or lack there of. You have laws specially geared to destroying a man in the courts, there are whole government departments and political movements masked to say they are helping but it does the reverse. Its a lot deeper than you think.

Im not struggling. I said im poor. Meaning i live a non-lavish lifestyle. All my bills (electrical, water, insurance, cable, internet, landscaping, gas, car insurance, taxes, 401K, medical insurance, student loans, home insurance, home security) are being paid.

But the way it comes across to me is that people who fear and avoid women that is their financial equal just dont trust said women, period. Whatever that "she has power over you" @DrX was talking about doesnt make sense because if she could trust you to have power over her then you should trust her to have power over you too

And brehs' lets be honest with ourselves. I know we wanna beat our chest and claim to be head of the household but not many of us are fit to be leaders. THAT IS A FACT. In many cases some women can d a better job in that role and in which case your role as a man might just be the protector/guardian.
