Carmelo Anthony says Knicks 'gotta do something' in free agency

LOS ANGELES -- Carmelo Anthony says he had a "good" conversation with Phil Jackson about issues surrounding the New York Knicks earlier this week, but he sounds like a player eager to see what Jackson and the front office do to upgrade the roster this summer.

"It's in their court. The ball is in their court," Anthony said. "They have an opportunity, we have an opportunity to do something this offseason. We gotta do something. It's there."

Knicks would be setting themselves back if their prized free agent signing ends up being Rondo (like Melo seems to want)

They should look to trade Melo and build around KP, anything else will delay the inevitable and keep them on whatever hamster wheel they've been on.

Just sucks they don't have their first round pick. It would make the trade Melo, rebuild process much more agreeable to their fans.
