Looking back, those nikkas were unapologetically southern and country but still fly with it. That’s something I miss about rap. Everybody sound the same now. Back then whenever a new city popped off, they brought in a different style of rapping.

Cash Money for sure had fire. It was not close to No Limit though. That bubble eye Hummer shyt is classic. Wayne was an animal on that mic pre-rock n roll.

That said: No Limit fathered Cash Money’s success… they kicked in the doors.

Cash Money’s biggest issues:

•Birdman fukking over everyone
•Only 1 main Producer in Fresh (a giant, but low variety)
•Not able to make 1 woman star - Mia X was hugely important to making No Limit popular with the girls too, so was Mercedes to some extent
•P was a master marketing genius
•Couldn’t drop a proper 2nd Hot Boys album
