I have two boxes of cat6 cable but they have different color pairings. I'm new to this and am wiring my basement with jacks in every room going to a switch, which will connect to modem. Why are the colors different? One is commscope systimax gigaspeed xl 1071e. That one has solid green, orange, brown and blue each paired with a solid white.

The other is a box I got off Amazon that has the solid green orange brown and blue but paired with a striped wire.

The colors are for indication to what port you're using, without going into software etc.. In terms of speed etc. it makes no difference, unless you have different brands etc. there technically could be a difference in speed, but that is marginal.

Thanks breh. My bad for not being clear. Basically I'm asking how I know which order to put the wires if I want to create jacks and or patch cables. The systimax (which I prefer to use bc the cable itself is easier to work with) has 4 solid colored wires and 4 solid white

This should help with your normal patch cabling: RJ45 Pinout Wiring Diagram for Ethernet Cat 5, 6 and 7 - Satoms

I find cabling extremely annoying.

Unifi does virtual (augmented) patching, but there's also companies who make patch/ cable management boxes.

Cat 6 punching is a pain in the ass, use cat5e if at all possible and save yourself the trouble

The solid whites are the same as the striped wires
