Cavaliers vs Celtics ECF game 3 is the reason Danny Ainge traded Isaiah Thomas

The writing was on the wall after this game

- First 2 games, Cavs were beating the Celtics by like 50 points with Isiah on the court. Then all of a sudden, Isaiah Thomas gets hurt by the hip injury

It was completely different how the Celtics played without Isaiah

- Cavs couldn't exploit Isaiah's size by giving the ball to Isaiah's man. Marcus Smart was there, and he could defend his man
- Celtics became a better defensive team. They didn't have to constantly switch on defense to hide Isaiah. All the Celtics had to do was man up. They prevented the Cavs from scoring easy buckets
- They became a better rebounding team


I'm sure Danny being the shrewd unemotional GM that he is, saw this game and was like

The only reasons Cavs won that game is because the WOAT jump shooter of all time, Marcus Smart went 7-11 from 3 for 27 points

not to mention, Lebron had legitimately his WOAT playoff game in 10 years. 11 pts, 4-13 shooting. yet, the Cavs took their best shot and the Celts still had to sweat it out at the buzzer.
