Super delegates picked the nominee in 2008 and 2004 too because unless you are running unopposed it is nearly impossible to get to the delegate thresold withot super delegates due to the way pledged delevates areally spit proportionately in therror Dem Primary. Super delegates are a safety measure to make sure a buffoon like Donald Trump doesn't get their party's nomination. They have never overturned the will of the primary voters and alway end up supporting whoever has won the primary. All this complaining about them is nonsense.

Many CBC members backed Hillary or Edwards. Elijah was one of Obama's early supporters when the Democrat establishment in his own state was backing Hillary.
