If you are like late 20's, cd singles were probably a part of your hiphop memory, hitting Sam Goody and Wherehouse Music, grabbing like one or two singles, when we were still paying for shyt with change and cashing in gift cards for some quick cash. I had at least a dozen or more singles, the full lp's were like 22 plus tax sometimes, just didn't have it back then...The maxi singles were like 5, and the 2 song like 3...

I had the 'I Miss My Homies' maxi single, Montell Jordan 'Lets Ride', TQ "Westside', (straight classic) with a snippet of 'Bye Bye Baby', Snoop Dogg 'Still A G Thang' (98), IMX 'Stay The Night', I wish I could remember more off the top, I lost all those years ago. 'Warren G/Nate Dogg 'Nobody Does It Better', I remember that too. Beatnust 'Watch Out Now'....'Players Holiday' f/ Too Short. A lot of R&B, sometimes those singles had some exclusive remix, or B side too.

Back then, if you heard a song you liked on the radio, you either recorded it onto a cassette, with the double tape stereo, or got the name if the DJ mentioned it, and went to grab the single. Funny how each generation changes, now were the old ones, these kids 21 or so, won't relate at all, and the guys that were grabbing vinyl and shyt will be like 'you had it easy'.

Had the 112/Mase 'Love Me', with the Jay subs, didn't know it at the time though, but that was the illest r&b/rap collab at the time...Had the Lil' Zane 'Callin Me' single too. Heres a forgotten throwback, Reel Tight 'Do U Wanna Ride'....That was a middle school classic, winter of 98? 99?

Had Next 'I Still Love You', [ame=http://www.amazon.com/I-Still-Love-You-Next/dp/B000009OR9/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1362460286&sr=8-2&keywords=Next+i+still+love+you]Amazon.com: I Still Love You: Next: Music[/ame]

5 versions of the same fukking song...Also, used just hit up Sam Goody and see what they had if I had a little extra money, get a single. Would be heated if I knew a song I liked and couldn't find the single...If I had 20 $ I could get a movie ticket, drink, candy, non maxi single, chinese food at the food court and have a few dollars and change left. Might save for a chain from the little silver place...
