CDC going to “randomly selected homes”

In Atlanta, starting today, 4/28 thru 5/4. They are conducting “antibody surveys”, perhaps in an effort to more thoroughly study the virus...?

They are going to random homes in Fulton and Dekalb counties...I’d bet a million dollars they are concentrating this testing in the SWATS as well as South Dekalb, the predominantly black areas. I can’t see them randomly knocking on folks doors in Alpharetta and Dunwoody and doing this, but I could be wrong.

According to the article, testing is supposed to be for all household members but participation is voluntary. I would not even open my door. Keisha is cool but Kemp has made me completely skeptical about their efforts and motives now.

Can't complain when the government isn't doing testing then complain when they are.

This is actually a good thing. We'll learn more about how bad the spread has been in Atlanta and the people tested will learn if they are immune now or not (given the assumption that antibodies == immunity).

Metro Atlanta is comprised of not just Fulton and Dekalb but also Clayton, Cobb and Gwinnett. I will admit, regarding the number of infections in the city, I am not sure where they are concentrated. According to the Department of Public Health, most of GA’s infections are not only in Fulton and Dekalb, but also Gwinnett, Cobb and Hall.

All that said, I can admit, it is hard to be objective when looking at this situation, admist all that has happened. I would argue the majority of black folks in the city are in Fulton and Dekalb, while the demographics of Cobb, Gwinnett and Hall are not as homogenous but still have a comparable rate of infection. If the testing efforts are extended to these other places as well, it would be easier to stop suspecting nefarious plans were afoot.

Though, if the CDC chooses to stick solely to Fulton and Dekalb, though, then city residents should expect this testing to cover the affluent part of said counties as well, such as places like Alpharetta, Roswell, Johns Creek, Milton, Dunwoody, Chamblee, and Brookhaven - all parts of the same counties but where the black populace is much, much smaller.

You don't even have to go all the way out to Dunwoody or Alpharetta. Let's see if they run around Brookhaven or North Druid Hills "testing" people...or better yet, Paces or Vinings.
