Celebrity boxing match to pit George Zimmerman against DMX

George Zimmerman plans to go from the courtroom to the boxing ring.

A celebrity boxing promoter said Wednesday that George Zimmerman will jump in the ring with rapper DMX for a three-round, pay-per-view fight.

Damon Feldman, owner of Celebrity Boxing, told CNN that within just an hour of announcing George Zimmerman's presence on a card he inbox was flooded with 8,000 requests to fight accused murderer.

"The match will be one of the Biggest Celebrity Boxing matches of all time," Feldman wrote in a release.

Zimmerman, 30, announced last week that he'd be taking part in the celebrity boxing match, and that fighting was nothing new to him.

"Prior to the incident I was actually going to the gym for weight loss and doing boxing-type training for weight loss," Zimmerman told Radar Online. "A mutual friend put me in contact with Damon and provided me with an opportunity and motivation to get back in shape and continue with my weight loss goals and also be able to help a charity out."

The incident, of course, is the shooting death of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin. Zimmerman was acquitted of murder last year.

As for his opponent in the ring, 43-year-old rapper DMX announced last week in no uncertain terms that he would be interested in the bout. In fact, the things he said aren't exactly printable.

Details in terms of location and date of the fight will be released next week.

DMX is 43 years old, and a recovering crack addict. They've said Zimmerman has been training for months... Chances are, DMX is going to take an L of EPIC proportions with this fight, and whoever advised him to take this challenge is just as pathetic as the idea of all of this.



I can see this nikka losing badly, then we'll have to see him campaigning for a rematch afterwards. America! We gotta be better than this
