This election highlights exactly the sentiment I've been trying to convey here in HL/KTL for the last few years. Hopefully this shows conservatives and liberals alike that they should totally embrace running against crony capitalism, the chamber of commerce, banks etc. as freely as they like.

North Jersey but I miss Cali :sadcam:
He didn't nailed shyt. Politicians in Washington sometimes forget about their HOME districts that got them to Washington in the first place. He lost because he took shyt for granted, got comfortable and felt his opponents (constituents for that matter) were beneath him.

No, my friend. He lost because populism is popular. . . For good reason.

you have to combine cantor's poor local game with the fact that he is in a state that obama won. it's not red enough to just put up with the most craven shenanigans if an attractive alternative is present. this does have positive ramifications for states like VA or NC, but the rest of truly deep red states will poll differently on the issues and most likely will not punish over crony capitalism

it was a primary you moron, only republicans can vote.
1. it is an open primary
2. i never said democrats voted for the challenger, i stated obama carried the state because it shows that they are not as deep red as other red states

I think you're making the common mistake of believing that most republicans are NOT against crony capitalism. The truth is that if you consume mostly mainstream media then the argument against crony capitalism is hardly ever to seen by you. Most republicans are STAUNCHLY against crony capitalism, but the message against it is rarely -- if ever -- delivered to them. . . BUT ONCE THEY HEAR IT, THEY SOAK IT UP LIKE A SPONGE. That's what David Brat represented here. He gave them a message they never hear. And hopefully his win will encourage more true conservatives (and liberals) to run on that platform.
