Purpose of this thread is to inspire everyone to do something challenging every single day. Your task is to do something uncomfortable and report it inthis thread. For those of you who work out and lift weights you are familiar with the callous that develops on your hands. Similar to the callous that develops on our hands we must callous our minds. And the only way to do that is to do things that we are uncomfortable with doing. Those things that we actively resist doing. Overtime we become more mentally strong. And through mental strength we can accomplish great things and live more intentful lives
I got this idea by a challenge outlined in the book Can't Hurt Me by David Goggins. I recommend you guys read or listen to the book if your in a rut or need some inspiration.
My challenge of the day
10/10/19
Woke up at 7am and ran for 4 miles in 30 degree weather. Afterwards I took an ice cold shower for 20 minutes followed by an1 hour of meditation
Tomorrows plan - it is suppose to dip in the single digits. I plan to run 5 miles in the morning and take an ice cold shower. afterwards i will sit in meditation for 2 hours.
Post your challenge as something similar to the above.
Important Note - Your challenge doesnt have to be a physical activity. It could be public speaking, cold approaching a female, asking your boss for a raise etc. As long as it is something your uncomfortable with doing. Also its important to appreciate that we all have unique challenges. Running 5 miles in bitter cold temps may be childs play for one person but cold approaching a female may be terrifying to another. One person may not have a fear of flying in airplanes but be horrified of puppies. Be honest about what makes you uncomfortable. There is no shame here.
Also do not deliberately put your self or others in danger. By challenge I mean something that is productive and ultimately makes you a better person. Know what you can handle and go 10-20% beyond that.
