holy shyt i just read this thread. straight comedy. people thinking this isn't a plant: what did this guy drop before acid rap? why the fukk was acid rap so wide spread when before that no one had heard of him?

His mixtape before Acid Rap, 10 Day, was downloaded quite a bit. No doubt the numbers jumped up after Acid Rap dropped but he still had a base. Same mixtape got him mentioned in Forbes, which probably helped a bit. After that, Childish Gambino brought him on board as his opening act. This was all 2012, before Acid Rap.

Sometimes reality is pretty boring.

This nikka chance is like a super plant.

The industry said fukk it we skippin the normal procedures and shyt, we just gonna fast forward this shyt. We gonna have cameras follow him around for a CNN documentary to show his slow, grind ( :mjlol: ) and nikkas that never heard of him (and it'll be a lot cause nikka is trash and has no legit movement) will be like " :ohhh: lemme check this guy out, it seems like I'm the only one out the loop on this gritty rap superstar!"

They done turned the culture inside out. Now you get false accolades based on how much money you throw the blogs and media instead of how many people actually feeling your music.

I don't get how you call someone a "plant" and then follow that up with "The industry said fukk it we skippin the normal procedures..." I mean what does the "Industry" have to do with this one? And two wouldn't the "Industry" be the "plant" machine? First of all he's not signed, and second of all he's making his own rules. There's no mad scientist/Frankenstein shyt going on here. Can't be mad at this kid for having talent and connections. Whether you like him or not, that's for the people to decide by purchasing his music and going to see him in concert. Dude is putting his career and future in his own hands, no one owns him and he's free to do what he likes and could give a fukk about anyone else's opinion. What's more Hip-Hop than that? It's like muthafukkas want Hip-Hop to to be poor and every artist have a rags to riches story. But when muthafukkas in the suburbs bump music from artists who fit that poor, grimy description they have to deal with the stigma of trying to be something they are not.

Lets face it, Hip-Hop has evolved, Black people in general have evolved, a lot of us that are grown and grew up on Hip-Hop have had the opportunity to make a better life for our kids but that shouldn't deny our children the opportunity to listen to Hip-Hop music they can relate to. Should Chance have lied about his background and used his resources to fabricate a grassroots movement just to get a bunch of sully muthafukkas to buy into his "struggle"?

And on to the documentary, Chicagoland, it ain't about Chance, he was featured for like 7min of an hour long weekly mini-doc where for the most part Chicago is being shyt on for high levels of crime, poverty and dropout rates. It was more about the fact that he lost a friend to senseless violence and how that played into the narrative. His segment was more of a contrast where they could have easily featured Chief Keef, but then we'd be having a totally different conversation but naw, we can't even appreciate what his story represents which was something positive. Some of ya'll muthafukkas are bipolar as hell when it comes to our shyt and I doubt you even really know what it is you want.
