Just witnessed this First hand. My Boy from Nigeria has obviously has a African name. He's over in LA we both do film, but the LA Market is tough brehs, my nikka was jobless for a few months, so we talking and fukkery ensued:

(My Boy): "Damn man, a nikka struggling out here, been applying to gigs on Craigslist but nothing."

(Me): "I feel you boy, I'm eating out here on the east coast tho"

(My Boy): "Dafuq Imma do"

(Me): "Honestly breh, it's probably ya name, them white folks(and people in film in general) probably see ya name and think you ain't shyt, that's how they think of most black people doing this shyt much less one from Nigeria.

(My boy): "Imma change the name on my resume, see if that work, change it to a white boy name"

(Me): "You should change it to something Jewish Breh" (We have a mutual Jewish friend)

(Him): "Haha I got it"

**** Calls me back 30 mins later*****

(Him) : "nikka I got the gig"




Mind you, he applied to this same job, using the same resume earlier

Told him he should hit them up, call them out on that bullshyt. That's why I'm finna delete Linkedin, sure people use that shyt to double check how you look prior to hiring you.
