personas you don't fully appreciate until they were in the rear view

- Ministry Undertaker
gotta confess I kicked him to the curb as a character after he tried to embalm Stone Cold :to: forgave him immediately when he showed up as the American Bad Ass . Didn't appreciate the fukkery he brought as Ministry Taker fully at the time, even when I was live at Summerslam 99 since I was hoping Kane would give him that work.

- Psycho ECW Kurt Angle
Needs no explanation really, I was worried for his sanity and didn't really appreciate his work the way I normally would, but damn minus the frothing at the mouth dude legit as fukk during this phase.

-Eric Young TNA
Everything the WWE wanted Santino to be on the comedy tip when he was on.

As a kid, I didn't like Sid. I thought he was stupid, and I found him annoying because he was always yelling & stumbling over his words. I also thought he looked stupid with his curly haired mullet. In my eyes as a kid, Sid's powerbombs were second tier compared to Vader & Kevin Nash too.

Once I grew up, I realized Sid was that dude :wow:

CM Punk with Heyman
What was your problem with heyman and punk ?
I wish I appreciated straight edge punk more , I just was tired of the faces on smackdown and wanted punk to shine as top baby face

Big Evil Taker, hated his gimmick change because the Deadman gimmick was one of the main things that made me a wrestling fan when I was a kid in 97'. Then I saw who dope he was during that short run with that character :francis:

Never appreciated Christian until he got to TNA.

Brian Pillman's "Loose Cannon" character in WCW.

As a kid I remember hating him in Stampede Wrestling (awful prettyboy babyface tag team specialist) and never cared about him in his early WCW days either, so I kinda wrote him off. Started to take interest in him when he teamed up with Austin in the Hollywood Blonds, but when they broke up I wrote him off again and didn't pay too much attention to the dude.

So, since I wasn't paying much attention to him, I didn't recognize the brilliance of the Loose Cannon persona in WCW and ECW until well after the fact. In fact he had probably already jumped to the WWF by the time I realized how dope it was.

I didn't appreciate William Regal until that king of the ring tournament. I always thought he was corny with the whole proper Englishman gimmick.

I had appreciation for bubba ray to an extent, but not completely until I saw his work as bully ray. Dude can play a pretty good heel.

Another one would be mvp. Wasn't really checking for him during his wwe stint. I didn't know his mic skills were that good until he got to tna.

The Artest formerly known as Prince Iaukea - although his gimmick was blantant rip off. he played the character extremely well.

Chris Jericho (WCW Heel turn/ MNJ run) I really thought he was corny as a kid. But looking back he really had great material.

Stevie Richards - although he would probably never be your top heel. But he was very entertaining in both a comedic and serious role.

It took me maturing not only as a fan but as a person and learning a bit about British culture and society for me to appreciate the comedy of Regal during his "proper" days towards the end of the attitude era, considering how far removed that is from his real life persona and accent

Kane before he ever took his mask off. He was never the same after he lost his mask that first time. Was equal to Taker if not bigger (i know thats blasphemy to some). But the Kane character had way more intrigue and a better story that Taker at the time. Then the mask came off and fukkery ensued.
