I hate watching shows and movies when characters stay in disbelief after seeing some of the craziest shyt that stretches reality. shyt is just bad writing and stunting the characters growth. Sci-fi shows are notorious for this. It's like c'mon son you being in denial about stuff in the first season coming from a normal life is understandable but you being in season 4-5/the end of the movie talking about no way that's not possible is just ridiculous. It's like nikka :wtf: you fought and killed a three headed space dragon on another planet, traveled to the center of the earth, watched your friend come back from the dead, time traveled and saved your dad and your son, but you think THIS new occurrence is far fetched and unbelievable to you? :upsetfavre:

:rudy: Mmm-hmm. "The Vampire Diaries" and "Supernatural" are 2 culprits of this.

When they introduced Werewolves in the 2nd season of TVD, the characters were cynical about such things & refused to believe in them. Even though they live in world where Vampires & witches who do real magic exist.

When they introduced Angels, Heaven, other elements of Christian mythology in the 4th season of "Supernatural", the characters were also cynical about that. Even though they live in world where they've been hunting Demons & other supernatural monsters their whole lives. Plus 1 of the characters was JUST resurrected from Hell.

not really the same but I hate when anime characters get on that dumb 'HOW IS IT POSSIBLE THAT U HAVE REACHED A LEVEL BEYOND MINE :damn: (even tho youve been training for decades and have recieved once in a lifetime unique abilities specifically designed to counter everything I throw at you)!?!?!?!?!?!?' steez

Scully is probably the #1 trope of this.

Fred.

Mulder: All the shyt we done seen and been through, you don't believe in aliens. :wtf:

Scully: :usure: Nah, where the scientific proof to support all of that?

Mulder: :beli:

Scully: :yeshrug:

:russ: I know she was supposed to keep Mulder in check and all but I'm sorry that shyt should have been deaded after season two at least.

Yeah they OD'ed on that shyt hard body. That's why I loved that episode "Bad Blood" about the vampires. I dunno if you remember that ep but Mulder and Scully each told their version of what happened, and it was wildly different. In Scully's version Mulder was kind of an immature moron, and in Mulder's version Scully was a complete bytch. :heh:

:wow: I swear.as soon as I get caught up to the current season of TVD (& The Originals), I'm FINALLY, FINALLY gonna sit down watch "The X-Files". I've owned the X-Files Complete Series DVD boxset for years and I keep putting this show off. So many of my favorite genre TV shows have been influenced by "The X-Files".

"The X-Files" is fukking incredible man. It falls off half way through the 7th season, and never really recovers completely through the end of season 9, but seasons 1-6 (and the 1st movie) are certified classic.
