I don't think the "athletes aren't smart" comment was particularly controversial, and not exactly wrong either. Athletes rely alot on raw physical talent, instinct/intuition and muscle memory (which is why they train alot) though some sports require players to do more thinking.

He might be a racist (or at least racist sympathizer) but he's not worth a thread or worth mentioning. I think OP is just mostly looking to fish for daps/stoke outrage and get people mad.

Where do you think it originated from? It's only used when discussing black athletes, though. You'll never heard white sports journalists dismiss the intelligence of white athletes. White quarterbacks are routinely lauded for their intelligence. "Smart," "analytical," "knowledge," and other adjectives are regularly in the descriptions of white quarterbacks in the NFL by white commentators; these descriptors are rarely ever applied to their black counterparts, almost always replaced by "raw talent," "workhorse," "grit," and other terms rooted in physical rather than mental ability.

Charla had the most cringeworthy commentary this episode when discussing the Westbrook incident with the fan. He came hard at Westbrook for checking a cac that was disrespectful to his face, but where was that energy when Cardi tried to fight Nicki.
