Been stagnant since '08. Golden era is upon us because these 30 or 35 year old rappers are starting to phase out with their tired raps.

These 20 year olds from Cali and Chicago are take over because they are bringing more energy and creativity compared to these 40 year old garbage rappers from the south.

Era always start with 20 years olds taking over. Ask Nas. Ask B.I.G.

i used to agree but all these releases have been disappointing

if NWTS isnt great 2013 will go down as an ass year, next year doesnt look too good either we had a ton of high profile releases this year. i feel like we will get some real heat at the end of the year

thats not rly how it works

those phases have happened a couple times since nas an big, if a genre doesnt keep having good "eras" then it dies out, no genre has had a golden age then 30 years later had another....

EDIT: I thought u were sayin hip hop has been shyt since the 90s, my b if im off

but in any event this wouldnt be the best golden age, actually it would b a pretty fukkin bad one. Hell no this isnt a golden age, maybe when the new artists get a bit older an can make cohesive quality records like kenny did

Yeah this year overall maybe a let down. If ASAp Rocky, Wayne, Kanye, Jay, Wale, Cole, big Sean, Drake, 2chainz all release an album in on year and no classics thats a let down. Alot of good to great projects in there though so it isnt that bad.

Also whats lined up for October-December?....Im thinking Ross just might release that Mastermind b/c thats like the biggest sales period for anything and for no hiphop/rap projects to be released would be crazy

Hip-Hop had 3. '88, '94, '01.

New eras always begin when the 20 year olds START take over.

Ask Nas.

Ask B.I.G.

Ask the Entire Philly/ATL/Harlem collective in '03.

This is why its hard to ignore the push Cali and Chicago is making. These 40 year old rappers from the south are not cutting it, their raps are so tired.

It's hard to tell right now cuz I dunno how I'll view the music of now in the future but theres tons of good shyt dropping all the time. A lot of average shyt but you can find that in any era

The Golden Era's produced all time great rappers between all coasts who pushed the envelope in their own way...NONE of that shyt is happening right now..

We don't have any GOATs among the crowd, yet. But you gotta admit shiit been so forced the past 5 years that there was no real momentum that NEW eras need. I feel this is upon us now. Too much activity in Cali and Chicago for us to ignore. Reminds me the energy Philly, Harlem, and ATL was bringing to the game from '03 - '08. Shiit fizziled out once the labels start to merge, and YMCMB was pretty much on top.

You can't really tell who is an all time great because we're in the moment. There is some people with all time great potential who have dropped nothing but greatness so far in my eyes tho.
