NBA legend and Sports Emmy-winning commentator for TNT’s “Inside the NBA,” Charles Barkley, will tackle the issue of race in “American Race,” a two-night television event from TNT, in which he will journey across the country to explore race from different angles, and engage in thoughtful but spirited dialogue with a diverse cross section of Americans. He brings with him an ambitious goal of building the kind of mutual understanding that can lead to productive solutions, TNT says.

Everything is on the table in “American Race” as Barkley sets out to generate meaningful dialogue and support potential solutions. Along the way, he engages with everyday people as well as cultural and academic experts, eventually realizing that his own views continue to evolve.

Troubled by the way racism and other forms of discrimination have affected so many communities, Barkley has made it his personal mission not only to learn about varying perspectives but also to give a voice to those most impacted by discrimination. In “American Race,” he will hone in on such topics as police and race relations, Muslims in America, immigration issues and Hollywood stereotyping. The results promise to be shockingly provocative and strikingly emotional, with Barkley finding his own preconceived notions being examined and challenged in each episode.

“American Race” will air over two nights – Thursday, May 11, and Friday, May 12 – with two episodes each night at 9 and 10 p.m. (ET/PT). In addition, TNT will offer a preview of the first episode on Sunday, May 7, at 11:30 p.m. (ET/PT), following the network’s coverage of the NBA Playoffs. And on Monday, May 8, all four episodes will be made available to subscribers through VOD and on the TNT app.

“American Race” is produced by Turner’s Studio T, in association with DocShop Inc. and KIN TV STUDIOS. Serving as executive producers on “American Race” are Charles Barkley, Lee Kyle Gaither, Marc Perman and Emmy winner Dan Partland, who also oversaw the acclaimed documentary series “The Sixties” for TNT’s sister network CNN.

Like I said before dude like whitlock and steppin a. They serve their masters well and will do anything for a dollar.

I don't even fukk with TNT pregame, post game or the half time show now.

Watch the games turn at half time and turn at the end of the game.

Treat them just like ESPN when I watch the NBA and when I watched the NFL (before I boycotted it last year).

Also since we talking about tv. I would advise yall to boycott that bull shyt documentary abc is doing on LA and race/riots.

That shyt is produced by anti black sell out John Ridley.

Not going to front I saw a commercial for it and said "this wasn't made for me or people like me" so I assumed it was made for middle American white folks to try and calm them down from their race hatred.....

I'm fully expecting some "Slavery ended 150 years ago...it's time 'we' pull ourselves up by the bootstraps" type of BS narrative...

This is going to be an embarrassment and unfortunately plenty of whites will use Charles' ignorance as 'truth' about the Black Community.

Breh when I saw that I knew it was a money grab just like the bull shyt OJ 132 hour documentary. I didn't watch that ignorant shyt either. If I wanted to see spin and bull shyt directed at black folks I would watch Fox News.

Then to see John Ridley involved. You might as well had a klan member and Lee Daniels sugar sweet anti black ass producer. Cause the damn outcome would be the same.
