If you have Charter internet you should go in and change your DNS servers to 8.8.8.8. and 8.8.4.4 which belong to Google. otherwise your internet will be flaky at best. this is a nation wide issue. in fact the call volume was so high they seemed to have shut down their national call line cause you get a bust signal now.

Changed mine on my router. It worked for maybe 5 mins and then went right back out.

Hopefully this is addressed tomorrow.

I changed mine at the router level and its been perfect ever since on all devices.
you can also use Open DNS servers
208.67.222.222
208.67.220.220

I just went into router settings and where it said automatically get DNS server information I clicked no and entered the addresses instead.

This is terrible

Can you imagine how mad some people would have felt that charter crashed...and they couldn't play a console because of some draconian level DRM in place?

Let this serve as a reminder...it can all come crashing down quickly.

Problem could be solved by not allowing users to sell the rights to their digital media at all. You buy something digitally and own it forever. that way your console doesn't have to confirm what you do and don't own.

Can someone explain how an entire internet sevice provider can crash.
Internet works fine but the DNS server doesn't so when you enter a website the thing that translates that to numbers to figure out where you're trying to go has failed. your computer site there with no idea what web page you're trying to pull up.

My shyt was out yesterday for a good 6 hours or so. It's the first time I've ever had issues with Charter, I'm actually really happy with their service but it being down for so long was annoying. It's back up and performing well luckily.

yeah mine was down until earlier today. first time ever running into problems with charter. on 2 different occasions i've caught their workers outside at another building and had them come swap out my modem for no charge at all. never got any letters from them either. by far the best isp i've ever dealt with.
