Live from the House that Kobe Bryant Built, AEW makes its debut in the historic Crypto.com Arena Staples Center, home of championships and legends. :ahh:

Fun facts about the Arena:

-first pro wrestling event in the arena was Raw in Nov 99. The start of the McMahon-Helmsley Era.

-WCW Nitro in January 2000. Psycho Sid won the title.

-first wrestling PPV was WWE Unforgiven 2002.

-CM Punk and Bryan Danielson’s only matches with Brock Lesnar were held in the arena.

-Undertaker and Brock’s first and last match was in the arena.

-Lakers won the first title of an eventual three peat in the first year of the arena’s existence.

Only 5 matches and 2 weeks left. I’m sure we’ll get Swerve/Rico. That means we’re halfway there, including the preshow matches. :heh:
Since TK likes to out everything on PPV instead of saving a match or two for tv…

Thunder and Stat vs. Bayne and Penelope Hurt Syndicate vs. Murder Machines or the Outrunners

This card is absurdly stacked.
Clear contender for PPV of the year if it delivers, just like last year.
Yeah if the five announced matches deliver then it’s going to be very difficult to top.

With that said, Mariah May and Toni Stormn should be the main event. Not the first of two co-main events, the real main event, the show closer.

For a multitude of reasons.

One - they deserve it and it’s the final match in a trilogy for a story that’s been told for well over a year.

Two - AEW has never had a women’s main event for a PPV. They just became the first women main eventers for a TV special, let them be trailblazers again

Three - Triple H’s booking, particularly of women, is coming increasingly under fire. #WWEWomenDeserveBetter was apparently trending on the Nazi Musk app for an entire day this week. AEW is getting hot as far as product quality goes, and the women’s division is part of the reason for that. What better statement to make to capitalize on the WWE criticisms than having women main event one of AEW’s tentpole PPVs? “AEW women main event PPVs while WWE women get their matches cut”

I would love it but I don't think it's happening for a simple reason : if the men's world title is changing hands then it's gonna main event and if it doesn't, not putting the match in the main event pretty much give away the fact that Mox is retaining and spoil the result which would hurt it a great deal.

I like this way of thinking, and all of these reasons make sense to be honest. I just dont think that will happen, but it should.

Sadly, the match of these 5 announced with the least heat will be the one closing, Mox/Cope. This Death Riders story is trash and needs to go. Also, when does Christian's year contract end? He needs to cash that in soon.

Was wondering if they would be doing the Max discount for this ppv, but seems like that won't be the case 🤔

I guess Max still isn’t ready to do PPVs. I don’t know why it’s so difficult to do. I’ve got apps from solo indie developers that do in-app purchases, why can’t WBD do it on Max?

TK needed that for a show at the Crypt. This isn’t the Forum and Staples holds more people.

He gotta get 10k in there and it might be possible. Last sales were at 7k and that was over a week ago.
