:wow:Chandon the Back Twistah

I'll check it out later but it's good dude still making music. Wild slept on:ehh:

Edit: Nevermind, these are old tracks. I still fukk with them though.
He's mostly producing and DJing parties now.

But he's been on a run recently of releasing old stuff from the vaults. He also dropped some joints cut from No Excuses on Xmas day. That's worth a listen too. P{retty much all 9th Wonder and Khrysis production, and he also released Carnage, which dropped as a physical release in 2008, again with production from 9th, Khrysis, Illmind, and featuring Sean Price, Skyzoo, Torae, Jean Grae, Joe Scudda, Jozeemo, Sha Stimuli, and others.

I'm hoping he drops his unreleased album with L.E.G.A.C.Y called The Embassy. That one was flames.

what do you mean by new style?
I was around the scene at the time. Little Brother recorded The Listening in 2001 and some in 2002, and Phonte recorded Connected (1st Foreign Exchange album) in mostly 2001 and 2002 as well. You can hear his rap style change a little bit from The Listening to Connected, and then from 2003 and beyond it developed more into what it is now.

Here's a couple of examples. Here's his solo joint from The Listening, and then his solo joint from The Minstrel Show. When he started writing for the Chitlin Circuit/Minstrel Show era is also when he stopped using a pen and a pad and writing in his head. He would break out a pen and pad for R&B hooks or tracks where he sang, but not for raps. Except unlike Jay-Z, instead of sitting and bobbing his head and mumbling to himself, and he would stand up with the beat playing and basically rap to himself really animated like he was performing the song live.

I think that's partly why LB had such great live shows. Because it seemed like they would write the songs with the live performance already at least partially in mind.
