Been wondering about this and there are a TON of these going back to the late 90s at least:

Armaggedon and Deep Impact
The Messenger and Joan of Arc (TV miniseries I think)
Volcano and Dante's Peak

Not counting the B movie copies that cable networks churn out to eat off a mainstream release.

Saving for later :salute:

Low key the two La Bamba films have the goat backstory. The documentary Electric Boogaloo: The Wild, Untold Story of Cannon Films isn’t on Netflix any more. This is the best I can find on YouTube

I thought I was tripping when I seen Netflix have the jungle book and then @Mowgli :wtf:
It's a popular brand. The wild child who became king of the beasts.

But now that markets are going more international these execs are trying to recash in on rehashes and I guess it works and it serves as good propaganda
