Idk about this. The best bbq here is at people's cribs. I'm always disappointed when I try a hyped bbq spot. We don't have a defined style either since the black people in city are transports from the south(or their elders are southern).

List is a joke.

Chicago has a lot of good food based on my experiences there.....but they are not #2....in front of Houston AND Austin :russ:.

New York in front of Austin/Lockhart etc?

They must be including Korean BBQ and the ribs you get from Chinese takeout spots or something. They cannot mean actual American BBQ.

I’m not willing to say we number 2 but there are some popular bbq pit shops in the chi

I-57, Lems, curts used to be poppin til he wasn’t paying his taxes and the irs snatched his shyt, (you can still buy his “boss sauce” in jewel which was what made his food so damn good),Leon’s and a few others, but typically you would pick one and stick with it, I’m an I-57 guy, they rib tips and hot links and sauce are gawdly. It’s the one thing i miss about the crib

Leon's was good in the 90s. I wasn't impressed when I had it a few years ago.

Chicago barbque is really Memphis barbque, so Chicago might be number two depending on if you hit the right spots on the West and South Sides. Otherwise most of those spots are straight up trash.

I don't know why list individual cities for barbque. They should just circle the southern states and say if you want good barbque then go there and find country Black people. They'll hook you up.

edit: I just noticed this list is mad by more White people rating barbque. They probably were looking for a mayonnaise based sauce.
