Sad as hell.
One time the Buddha was expected to give a speech or some shyt. Everyone was waiting for his wise ass and all he did was hold up a flower and leave. Most people felt cheated because they thought they wasted their time. One person wept. The most beautiful things in life are simple.
I’d gladly accept a flower from anyone who was being nice by giving them out.
Whether the reactions were off the cuff or they were told before what was happening- the idea of the gesture being offensive is sad on a spiritual level.
I also might have smoked too much flower….
