Child's Play TV Series on SyFy

SyFy has ordered Child's Play creator Don Mancini's Chucky TV show, which centers around the serial killer doll of the same name, to series.

In addition to directing the first episode, Mancini will serve as the showrunner and writer for the new series. No release date, episode count or casting information was given for Chucky. The series will be executive produced by Don Mancini, David Kirschner, Nick Antosca and Harley Peyton.

USA & SyFy President Chris McCumber said of the deal, “The character Don and David created has terrified audiences for over 30 years. The longevity and legacy of Chucky speaks to the creative storytelling and the loyal fans the film series has collected over the years. We are excited to once again partner with Nick and UCP on this new SYFY series, and are incredibly proud to bring Chucky to television for the first time with the original creators

In the new CHUCKY television series, after a vintage Chucky doll turns up at a suburban yard sale, an idyllic American town is thrown into chaos as a series of horrifying murders begin to expose the town’s hypocrisies and secrets. Meanwhile, the arrival of enemies — and allies — from Chucky’s past threatens to expose the truth behind the killings, as well as the demon doll's untold origins as a seemingly ordinary child who somehow became this notorious monster.

The Child's Play franchise started in 1988. Several films, television series and spinoffs have since been released. Child's Play was rebooted in 2019, though this new project will have no connection to that film, an interpretation Mancini does not approve of and has distanced himself from.

had the same feeling too but I've been reading that it won't be watered down...like we'll get the gore/blood kills and probably some f-bombs...i ain't watch syfy in years, but people have said that their recent shows have eased up on the censorship

SyFy sniffed some of the wildest heemi in recent years.
That show Happy and that Death Race type show (forgot tye name) are wild as fukk!!!

I don't know about a watered down, basic cable Chucky.

NBC's basic cable channels (USA and SyFy) allow plenty of cursing and violence now. Mr Robot was the earliest show I've seen that said "fukk" uncensored on air.
