Chip Kelly: Colin Kaepernick worked hard, never a distraction

Former 49ers coach Chip Kelly says Colin Kaepernick was everything he wanted in a franchise quarterback last season.

Kelly said on Adam Schefter’s podcast that Kaepernick was as hard a worker as he could have asked for in their one season together.

“He came to work every day, extremely diligent in terms of his preparation, in terms of his work ethic,”
Kelly said, via All22.com. “I really enjoyed Kap. I’ve talked to Kap three or four times since. I think he’s a really good player and a really good person, and I really enjoyed coaching him.

As for talk that Kaepernick’s decision to kneel for the national anthem serving as a distraction in San Francisco, Kelly said that was never the case.

“He explained to all the players his thought process and mindset of what he was doing,” Kelly said. “And there were some players that agreed with him and some players that didn’t agree with him. But after that point, we heard from the outside about what a distraction it is, except those people weren’t in our locker room and it never was a distraction. [Kaepernick] never turned it into a circus or whatever people think.”

Kelly and former 49ers coach Jim Harbaugh have both spoken out vocally in favor of some team giving Kaepernick a chance. So far, no team has :mjpls:

I never thought he was racist, not like how LeSean thought anyway. Malcolm Jenkins, one of the more woke and intelligent guys in the league, spoke up for Chip
Chip just has no social skills and is a control freak from what I've seen. The tantrums if someone were to offer a contract would be most glorious :wow:

That's why you can't believe what these cacs are saying about him being a bum and washed up and not good...

Dude was a super bowl qb a few years ago, played well in limited action last year on a sorry team but he trash all of a sudden. Folks let their politics/racism get in the way

Al, this to spite one man. Because he QUIETLY kneeled in protest (and was taken WAY out of context)

It would be funny, but we're watching it play out in politics as our president (*shudders) is trying his absolute best to reverse and repeal anything attached to Barack Obama

So his coach, teammates and a well known local beat writer who was a critic of his play speak up for him but people who are not his coach, teammates or a well known local beat writer say different.

I don't know who to believe.

Should make it easy to know who to believe

It's the owners of every NFL team.

I seriously doubt many NFL coaches and players wouldn't want him on their team, they mainly care only bout winning and football.

It's the team owners who worry about revenue that won't.

Funny thing is, Kaepernick could be that missing piece to several teams which would transcribe into even more revenue not just by results on the field, but viewership generated by storylines. Also NFL is being dumb because if Kaepernick goes to a play-off team, then everyone would be tuning in to see if he loses.

Dude is not more hated than Mike Vick was and look how that turned out.

There's more to it than this but it revolves around the owners being on some :mjpls: at the end of he day.

That's why I'm not watching the NFL anymore.
