I'll drop some piff in this thread for the homeowners:
American Red Cross gives and installs them for free. I got 7 joints in my entire crib from them.

Another tip: if you change the batt or it's a 10 yr joint and it still chirps: spray a compressed air directly into it.

ya sometimes excess dust can trigger it

That usually means it needs new batteries, is at the end of it's life or dirty. Die in a fire because you're lazy brehs.
