CIA -aided Drug trafficking dates back to the 1940s.

During the late 90s- 2000s, Gary Webb was the first reporter to expose the CIA in their proliferation of drugs into the US- through his articles titled- The Dark Alliance. Of course, the govt tried to discredit him even though he had access and interview statements from the connects involved, former govt agents and witness statements. The govt used drugs to fund wars. The reporter died by “suicide”, even though the coroner stated there were 2 bullet wounds to his head. No one can physically kill them selves twice. The Wash. Post were politically impacted so they had a role in discrediting the report, as well.

After the CIA was exposed, the CIA director at the time resigned after a town hall meeting. The airfields in Arkansas were used as a major source of transport. Not coincidental that Bill Clinton was Governor of said state. Also not coincidental that this info was pushed aside due to the Clinton- Lewinsky scandal unfolding at the time. It’s a whole lot of cover ups and corruption; the talking heads are silent or don’t speak up bc like anyone else attached to tspeak truth on this are faced with public scrutiny, career destruction or death with their scary intimidated azzes. Rather withhold facts and details from the public than reveal information that would put them at risk.

Disparity, lack of resources, unemployment, economic inequality, degradation, destruction were all prevalent in the community prior to the crack era. The CIA took advantage of an already desperate situation in the black communities by providing the means of “escapism” and accomplishing the other goal of devastation in already depressed neighborhoods. Addiction is a form of mind control, hence easy availability of alcohol in poorer neighborhoods, fast food, guns - all contribute to addictive habits. There’s no demand without the supplier.

Yes, all those thing existed when black men returned home from Vietnam but nowhere to the extent of the crack era. My statement didn't need to be quantified in order to prove my point.

It's an oversimplification, they clearly contributed to it and made it worse by inaction and making drugs illegal has been a disaster.

Heroine (smack, dog food, etc..) was the premiere drug in the inner city in the 70s. Cocaine was a prestige drug that only the upper middle class and wealthy could partake in. H is an expensive drug to produce and distribute in comparison to cocaine. The CIA knew the inner city would fulfill the demand side of the equation since the Contras had the supply side taken care of, so they became the "plug". They flooded the inner city with wholesale cocaine, dramatically reducing the price and increasing the availability. Crack was a byproduct of profitability, the dealers learned that they could stretch smaller quantities which allowed for more people to get into the game.

Did the CIA set out with crack in mind? No, they set out move as much cocaine as possible to increase their off the books budget. They could care less how the product was sold but they are the sole reason it was easy to get.

Since when has the CIA ever cared about domestic policy?

An entire generation has been killed and jailed because of systematic racism in governance and the American society. That started with Nixon as he was the first to push the "tough on crime" agenda which solely targeted and vilified blacks. He did that simply for political support.
