this is no surprise and not even news. it super high risk to sign him to a lot of years if your objective is ultimately to go all the way. you would have a better chance in finding the next Chris Paul instead of hamstringing (no pun intended) your cap

Point guards break down before any other position. Point guard is the most talented position in the league right now.
Giving him 3 years max is the right thing just out of respect. They’ll be lucky to get 2 more prime years out of him.

It's not about the money . Chris Paul wants the years. Which will mean more money. He wants the 5 years

CP3 gotta be real with himself. I love the way he plays becuz he plays hard and all out all the time. But I don't think he can realistically play that hard at the elite level he's played at for 5 more years.
