“They asked me to move to OVW to train and I was like YES! I get to go train! Like I want to go work hard, I was really excited. And then when I got there, I was there for maybe a week and then I got the call that I was released. And I was heartbroken. Crushed.”

When asked why, she responded:

“I’m a strong woman that lives by my morals, and if you ask me to do something that’s not within my morals I will say no. So once I put that you know line down, that’s when I got the axe…It was one specific incident, so I’m just gonna leave it at that, cause I don’t need to go into details…It was not a wrestling related risque thing, I did Playboy…it’s just behind the scenes, politics, politics.”



The rumor has been attributed to Wade Keller, who reported the following in the Pro Wrestling Torch newsletter:

The word on Christy Hemme’s sudden release is that on a recent tour she acted inappropriately toward Triple H, and word got back to Stephanie McMahon. There are a variety of stories going around, none of which directly implicate Hunter for doing anything physical. Apparently, though, Stephanie wasn’t pleased that Christy seemed excited about traveling with Hunter and Dave Batista on the trip.

Steroids But I still think most of these dudes are on some form of that bullshyt. This is why Punk and DB are the true wrestling GOATs for always remaining clean, having dope matches, and making it to the top without cheating.

He should've worded that 2nd part differently, I see what he was trying to say. If you consider the AE truly lasting from 1997-1999 (Jerry Springer/Howard Stern/early South Park type of shock TV entertainment) as the year 2000 was an entirely different ballgame from an in-ring talent perspective and the storylines were way better. Up until then, the AE, while great for some storylines and mainly fukkery, was comprised of brawls and short matches when it came to actual in-ring action. The quality in AE matches didn't pick up or compare with WCW/ECW piff until guys like Y2J, Angle, and The Radicalz came along. Not to say guys like Austin, D'Lo, Pac, Venis, Rocky, etc. couldn't wrestle. Of course they could, it's just that Vince had them dumb it down to double his dollars because that's what the people wanted at the time of shock TV era . Me personally, I don't think it's worth going back to watch that timeframe from beginning to end unless we're talking 2000. It's cool to talk about and watch some clips occasionally though.
