Chrysler May Limit Production Of 2015 Hellcat Challenger to 1,200 Units

Do not expect to see too many models on the street as Chrysler may limit the production of the Challenger SRT Hellcat to as much as 1,200 units.
When asked about this, Dodge CEO Tim Kuniskis didn’t confirm it and said that the company doesn’t know what the market demand is. Chrysler said that it will determine in the next several wheels which lucky dealers will sell the Challenger SRT Hellcat.

There are around 2,400 Dodge dealers in the United States and if the production will be limited, this means that less than 50 percent of the dealers will get at least one unit.

Each vehicle will be equipped with the 6.2-liter HEMI Hellcat V8 engine that produces 707 hp and 650 lb-ft (881 Nm) of torque, bolted to the TorqueFlite 8HP90 ultra-high performance 8-speed transmission.

This means that customers will get the fastest muscle car ever with an NHRA-certified 10.8 second quarter mile time at 126 mph (202.7 km/h).

Regarding the design, we find the “Slingshot” forged-aluminum wheels with Matte Black or Brass Monkey/dark bronze finish, a large front splitter, “Supercharged” fender badges, black side sills, a new rear spoiler with raised SRT logo as well as an unique power-bulge aluminum hood that can be finished in body color or Satin Black.

They are just doing this to drum up the hype for it... The same thing could be said about vipers back in the day, now you can buy one at any dodge dealership if you got the money...

Oh and they will be putting the hellcat into a srt charger... sooner or later..

Yeah, limited production vehicles are used to generate interest in the brand so people who can't get their hands on a Hellcat will check out Dodge and hopefully buy a regular production vehicle
