Above the fray.
EDIT: Original post was an audio interview of RJ Smith, writer of new Chuck Berry biography . During the interview, at 18:54 the author mentioned a documentary that was authorized and released by Berry's widow. Released the year after he passed away. Found it, and posted it instead. It covers everything.
The original post is spoilered at the bottom.

CHUCK BERRY, The Original King of Rock N Roll (2018)

In this highly anticipated feature length documentary, the absolute instigator of rock 'n' roll, Chuck Berry, is truly revealed, with unprecedented exclusive access. Despite his iconic status, and reverence for his talent by rock's heroes John Lennon, Keith Richards, Steven Van Zandt, Joe Perry, Nils Lofgren and Alice Cooper, all featured, Chuck Berry was a family man. He was a prolific craftsman of word and chords; an undisputed and stunning combination of talent and charisma. Director Jon Brewer (B.B. King: The Life of Riley, Nat King Cole: Afraid of the Dark), was personally selected by the Berry Estate to produce and direct the inside story of the man known as the bedrock of rock 'n' roll.

The definitive biography of Chuck Berry, legendary performer and inventor of rock and roll
In Chuck Berry, biographer RJ Smith crafts a comprehensive portrait of one of the great American entertainers, guitarists, and lyricists of the 20th century, bringing Chuck Berry to life in vivid detail. Based on interviews, archival research, legal documents, and a deep understanding of Berry’s St. Louis (his birthplace, and the place where he died in March 2017), Smith sheds new light on a man few have ever really understood. By placing his life within the context of the American culture he made and eventually withdrew from, we understand how Berry became such a groundbreaking figure in music, erasing racial boundaries, crafting subtle political commentary, and paying a great price for his success. While celebrating his accomplishments, the book also does not shy away from troubling aspects of his public and private life, asking profound questions about how and why we separate the art from the artist.

Berry declined to call himself an artist, shrugging that he was good at what he did. But the man's achievement was the rarest kind, the kind that had social and political resonance, the kind that made America want to get up and dance. At long last, Chuck Berry brings the man and the music together

Thanks for tagging me. It's always cool hearing the origins of musicians and bands.

Edit: It's an interesting listen. It would have been nice if we could have heard more friend/family accounts of events. The writer seems like he's interpreting events in Chuck's life without being able to hear from closer sources to Chuck Berry.
