I'm Christian and think it's good that they are getting rid of this loophole. While this happens across all facets of organizations, it has been protected in religion. To those putting this off on the religious, this should be directed to those committing the acts, those that are silent about it, and those that are protecting it.

Just like I don't stand for protecting the church from scrutiny in this matter, I don't stand for anyone using their position of power and authority to oppress, abuse, and scam others.

You have to protect your children in every environment, including church.


When it was time for one of my little cousins to attend children’s church (you know, when kids are called to the front for a Bible lesson and then excused to separate area for the remainder of service) which was for kids who were about 4-10, her grandmother signed up to be a volunteer the entire 6 years she was in attendance. When she hit 11 and was old enough to stay in the regular service, her grandmother stopped.

Someone in the family should be watching the children at ALL times. Potential predators need to know YOUR kid has protection and family watching.
