Never been to Houston but have a strong, strong hunch I'd prefer it to Dallas and that I'd enjoy it period...

Dallas didn't impress me. I went in the middle of summer and that's probably the worst time to go, like going to Kansas City in the middle of winter. It was disgustingly hot...

Apart from that, Dallas' culture didn't do it for me. It has a lot of black folk but feels less black than it actually is, whereas there are some places that feel blacker than they really are. It's not a culturally black city in the way Houston is. Lot of preppy and CMT-type white folk there, it's whiteness is really similar to Nashville's, if you've ever been to both...

And Texas Mexicans are just strange, I've been to two cities in Texas (El Paso too) and Mexicans in Texas are in a real identity crisis. It's like they are caught between trying to figure out whose culture they want to assimilate into, ours, the whites, or their own...

It feels like a major city for sure, but there's a country theme that again might just be a Texas thing. I get the vibe Houston is similar in that sense...

Houston, is widely regarded as one if the most international, diverse, and integrated cities in the US. It's a black mecca, I guess Dallas is too, to a degree, but Houston is for us at a different level. Houston's contributions to The Culture are just deeper and wider and more relevant, it has a different allure...

Texans, former Texans, and those of you who've been to both, which one do you prefer, and why?

Don’t live in either city… but H-Town brehs ain’t doing shyt like this :wow:

SO NOW WATCH ME WORK

Ayo Dallas music is a point I forgot to hit, most them nikkas trash as fukk 🤣. Compared to Houston which has a deeper root in hip hop and just many better artists...

Dallas some dancing ass nikkas and they dances are corny too 😆...

I will say, I got put on RonnyMothaF years back and he has some shyt I fukk with. Durrough was cool for a second, Badu was cool for a little longer, and Yella Beezy has a few shyts I liked. S3nsi Molly trash but she a lil cute thing, something about her, I'll give her at least one listen if I see something from her...

And I gotta give Dallas it's flowers as a major influencer of culture. It is a black mecca, the entire fukking state of Arkansas follows Dallas trends, especially Little Rock...

I didn't hate Dallas, I just thought it was "okay". Similar to how I feel about Kansas City. If I never go again I'm okay, it's not a city I gotta revisit, although I could, there and San Antonio are the only two Texas cities I have relatives at...

Cmon, Houston.
I could see the appeal of Dallas if you are wealthy white or hispanic but the blacks there seemed like bammas. Culturally Houston is just way more diverse, even among black people with all the nigerians and solid middle/upper class black circles. The white people seem less :mjpls:in Houston too, could just be my experience due to where I went or the fact it's so diverse they have to act better. Dallas gave the vibe of what people probably think a Ted Cruz/Gov. Abbott Texas is like where as Houston seemed more cosmopolitan southern city like Atlanta

I could care less about Houston tbh. Worst fukking drivers around. International city with everybody showcasing the worst road abilities their country has to offer them on top of the shytty native Houston drivers :hhh:

Good food scene some great looking women of all varieties.

not a bad place to live i guess.

You think Dallas is hot then try Houston in the summer :damn: . Then the hurricane risk :damn: .

Never been to Dallas. I was trying to get a Job up around there for a while though

H-Town. I'm from Houston but I've lived in both. I prefer Houston. The music, the black owned businesses, the clubs, the car culture, the vernacular, the love, the crawfish festivals, the food, the rodeo, historical black figures, etc.

I feel like I grew up on a different planet once I left.

Traffic aside (especially I-10), you'll find Houston easier to navigate. Dallas is a mess and its drivers are the woat. With Houston, as long as you know the general direction of wherever you're going, you'll get there without too much trouble. When I lived there, I'd meander my way to places off of that alone. Sounds like a terrible idea in theory but works amazingly well in practice. The only caveat to this is if you find yourself in one of those super-rich neighborhoods by accident (this used to happen to me a lot). Their roads almost always had dead ends unless they were outright gated.
