You break into any house you basically have a death wish.

I also tell folks to get a security cam system as well. See them before they see you...

I had cctv at one point. Then I had ring cam.

Let me be the first to tell you from experience. The last thing you want to do at 2am when someone is banging on your door, kicking your door, smashing a window. Even opening or trying to open your car door if you park in the driveway is A: turn on your TV (mine was on TV), or turn on a computer monitor or B: grab your phone hit the alert and figure out in real time what the hell is going on.

That shyts cute when you ain't home "oh I got an alert, oh it's just FedEx.

At 2am.....nah....grab the gun.

I don't have none of that shyt anymore. Now I have a dog. And she wakes up when the wind blows my recycle bin and it rattles too loud, or the wind blows too hard and rattles the storm door.

Crazy thing is, her bark is real loud so when you hear it, although she's 110lbs. She's sounds like she's 160. She's 5'10 when she stands up and you pull her arms up, so she's large but she ain't like a rott or pit or nothing

Home camera systems have sensors you can put on anything. If doors, windows etc.. are opened without the alarm being turned off, it sets of a loud alarm you don't have to do anything. See the sensors at the bottom. You can place it on anything that opens.

I know. I used to install them. That's how I got my cctv set up.

Loud noises are good deterrents. I know most burglars and thieves aren't violent offenders looking to commit assault or murder. They'll hear the noise and run. My dog barking incessantly will aroused my neighbors as that's not common. None of my neighbors can hear my alarm go off in my house. And all that loud noise does is make it so I can't hear if someone is in my garage, my basement, on my patio, in my kitchen, still kicking my door.

In fact when I had an alarm that was the first thing I did was mute the alarm keypads (that's where the door and window chimes and siren noises came from). I muted the front, back and basement door ones and had my bedroom one set to 2. Therefore if any door or window alarm went off, it was loud enough to wake me from a sleep but not loud enough to echo throughout the entire house, so someone may think I'm not home, meanwhile I'm grabbing one of my guns.

Outdoor sirens used to be a thing but city ordinance banned them because other things set off false alarms especially glassbreak/sound detectors and you can't just having an alarm sirening through the neighborhood from the roof of your house. Especially when people go out of town and the person that sets off the alarm forgets the code or the dog knocks over a plant while you are at the grocery store. Now you can remotely turn shyt off but even now it's still kind of irrelevant for my situation.

Even before the dog I could creep through .y house in the dark and someone standing in my front window or front door couldn't see me inside, and none of my patio and back doors have a clear view inside. Hell I've had people knock on my door at 7pm daylights savings time wanting to preach the gospel of the Lord and I've crept Tommy door and just stood there silently while they knocked and then walked away thinking no one was home.

People ain't playing out here.

I am the same way. I ain't about to feel uneasy in my home.

Potential home invaders better go panhandle if you down that bad. People will give you some money if you ask enough.

And it may be embarrassing but at least you'll have your life and can still turn it around.
